Prenatal Yoga Classes at Yoga on 45th
What is Prenatal Yoga?
Accompanying some of the most miraculous changes that take place during pregnancy, prenatal yoga can benefit you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually on your 9 month journey into motherhood.
These classes are offered in a calm and peaceful environment to enhance mindfulness between you and your baby. Helping you to center your mind, trust your intuition and draw your attention to your breath.
A very gentle sequence: Emphasis centered on breath, while going through gentle stretches to increase flexibility. We'll go through standing, seated and reclined poses to strengthen the body, build stamina and increase pelvic floor muscles, with ample time for relaxation allowing you time to connect with your baby.
Yoga has been shown to help alleviate many common complaints during pregnancy such as heartburn, nausea, swelling, back pain, sciatica, headaches and shortness of breath. Prenatal yoga can help to improve sleep, circulation and digestion while reducing stress and anxiety. It is recommended by some doctors to wait until week 12 to begin practice especially if living a more sedentary lifestyle. Please check with your healthcare provider to ensure that prenatal exercise is for you and your baby's best interest. (a note from your doctor is required)/p>
Recommended to bring: yoga mat, snack and water bottle....an eye pillow if you have one! Suggested attire is comfortable clothing.

Prenatal Yoga classes are $40/ 4 week session/ drop-ins are $20 and classes are not guaranteed unless you sign-up ahead of time.
